DWDM Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (DWDM OADM)
       

     OADM is one of the key components of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networks. Its function

is to selectively receive and send some wavelength channels up and down from the transmission optical path

without affecting the transmission of other wavelength channels. In other words, OADM realizes the functions

of traditional SDH (Electrical Synchronous Digital Hierarchical Structure) add/drop multiplexers in the time domain

in the optical domain, and is transparent, and can handle signals of any format and rate.
