FC optical modules basically operate at Fibre Channel speeds ranging from 1Gbps to 128Gbps and are expected to reach 256Gbps and 512Gbps. Common packages are SFP, SFP+, SFP28, SFP56 and QSFP28.

     1. What is FC (Fiber Channel) transceiver?

X-krama's FC optical transceiver module follows the FC protocol and acts as an interface between fiber channel systems and also an interface between fiber storage network devices. They are mainly used in Fibre Channel storage network links in data centers. FC modules have the characteristics of miniaturization and low power consumption, which can meet the needs of fast and lossless transmission of large amounts of information.

The storage area network (SAN) is isolated from the outside world, which can reduce the risk of attacks and data leakage on the storage network. Therefore, it is safer to use FC optical modules in the storage network.

2. Date rate and package form of FC transceivers

FC optical modules basically operate at Fibre Channel speeds ranging from 1Gbps to 128Gbps (1Gbps/2Gbps/8Gbps/16Gbps/32Gbps/128Gbps ), and are expected to reach 256Gbps and 512Gbps. Common packages are SFP, SFP+, SFP28, SFP56 and QSFP28.
